The Pharma Awards by Pharmaconex celebrate the outstanding achievements of pharmaceutical manufacturers, suppliers, innovators, and healthcare organizations across North Africa and the wider MENA region.

These awards recognize outstanding initiatives across key sectors, including Excellence in Drug Delivery & Packaging, Patient Care, Exports, Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Cleanroom, and Startups.

By highlighting innovations in drug delivery, patient-focused care, successful international expansions, sustainability efforts, digital advancements, cleanroom operations, and startup innovations, the awards aim to showcase the best practices and advancements driving growth and improvement within Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector.

These awards are open to companies that use local resources to foster development and strengthen the local industry.

How the Pharma Awards Competition Work

Submit your entry in the category that best showcases your organization's achievements.

A distinguished panel of pharmaceutical leaders evaluates every submission against the published judging criteria.

Shortlisted companies will be notified ahead of the awards ceremony.

The winners will be announced during the Pharma Awards Gala at Pharmaconex 2026 on 2 September 2026.

Award Categories

Excellence in Drug Delivery & Packaging

Introducing a new dosage form or drug delivery system to the market within the last 2 years
Improved Drug efficacy and/or potency through enhancing drug formulation within the last 2 years improving patient compliance
Going green in primary or secondary packaging - using recycling or biodegradable materials
Proof of Excellence is to upload the registration details of the products, it's commercial performance in an authorized report, and in case of packaging, the product sheet.

Excellence in Patient Care

Reached the highest number of Patients through their out-reach programs over the past 24 months. With higher weight allocated to programs executed by local pharma manufacturers vs. MNCs
Preventive and awareness campaigns conducted in the past 12-24 months. Proven by social media coverage, budgets and any accolades or awards received.
Speed to market in providing alternatives to missing drugs proven by product registration and commercialization data.

Excellence in Exports

The number of new export markets opened in the past 12-24 months - consistent exporting to these new markets
New products developed and/or adjusted to fit requirements to an export market in the past 12-24 months.
Number of products registered in new countries in the past 12-24 months
Investing in upgrading current infrastructure for export purposes. Acquired certificates for exports- GMP- EMEA- CIS- in the past 12-24 months YOY growth in exports – Export product pipeline
Utilizing CTD or ECTD for product registration in external markets

Excellence in Sustainability (ESG)

Reduction of waste in factories or HQ
Water recycling, paper recycling - paperless
Safe elimination of hazardous wastes
Reducing carbon footprint through transportation or energy
Diversity & inclusion (% of women and/ or disabled in the workforce and leadership)
Facilities designed to cater for special needs (ramps/bathrooms/etc)

Excellence in Digital Transformation

The percentage/number of automated processes on your system. Proven by active ERP blueprint and sample shots of the dashboards management uses or a demo for Informa team.
New tools/applications launched and/or used for efficiency in the past 12-24 months. Integrating AI
Compliance to Track and Trace (viable for companies operating in Egypt only)

Excellence in R&D & Product Innovation

Be a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, or service provider contributing to pharmaceutical research and product development
Have a minimum of three years of continuous operation
Maintain activity in one or more MENA countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, GCC, Sudan, Mauritania, and others
Demonstrate innovation and measurable impact in the region, supported by:
- Verified topline performance data for the past three years
- Breakthrough products, services, or R&D initiatives - IQVIA data or audited financial statement

Excellence in Supply Chain

Be a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, or service provider engaged in pharmaceutical supply chain operations
Have a minimum of three years of continuous operation
Maintain activity in one or more MENA countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, GCC, Sudan, Mauritania, and others
Demonstrate innovation and measurable impact in the region, supported by:
- Verified topline performance data for the past three years
- Exemplary supply chain practices or services
- IQVIA data or audited financial statement

Excellence in Health & Wellness Products

Be a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, or service provider offering health and wellness products within the pharmaceutical sector
Have a minimum of three years of continuous operation
Maintain activity in one or more MENA countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, GCC, Sudan, Mauritania, and others
Demonstrate innovation and measurable impact in the region, supported by:
- Verified topline performance data for the past three years
- Flagship health and wellness products or services
- IQVIA data or audited financial statement

Rising Star

This award celebrates new businesses or individuals - established within the last 5 years - who have shown remarkable innovation or excellence in any award category.
Promising candidates may receive exemptions from standard business size requirements based on exceptional merit.

Local Company Best Performance

This award celebrates local businesses or individuals who have shown remarkable innovation or excellence in any award category.
Promising candidates may receive exemptions from standard business size requirements based on exceptional merit.
